Tears streamed down my face and I pulled the throw blanket off the back of the tiny couch in the living room of the Air Bnb and wrapped it around myself. It was day two of our visit to Norwich, England, and the kids had requested a break from doing all the things, and so we paused on a Saturday, and just hung out. I was glad the first stop we’d made the previous day was to the shrine of St. Julian of Norwich, and that I’d promptly purchased two books: a modernization of Julian’s Revelations, and a book entitled Through Julian’s Windows, by Elizabeth Ruth Obbard. Since the kids wanted a break, I decided to read all day. I sat down with my tea and biscoff cookies and began Elizabeth’s book first.
